Can I build my own website?
That is a question that many people ask themselves. Although the question is quite simple, the answer is a bit more complicated. Nowadays there are many companies who offer all kind of tools on the Internet that make it very easy to build a website that looks great. So, in that way the answer is: Yes, you can build your own webiste.
But will it work?
In the first place, it is important that you understand what the aim of your website is. Some examples of this are:
- Your own personal website, to let your family and friends know what you are doing and what is going on in your life.
- A website for your own company, but only aimed to inform your existing customers about what is going on in your business.
- A company website that wants to attract new customers and generate more turnover for the company.
- A professional e-commerce website where a company sells its products online.
If you are confident to build a website yourself, there is certainly no need to hire a professional website developer for the frist two examples. It is sufficient that the site looks great and that you put all the information on it. You can send the link to your family, friends or customers and they will know how to find the site.
However, in the other two cases, the big question will be:
How do I attract new visitors to my website?
There are millions of websites. And there are hundreds of millions of people looking on the internet to find all kind of information. So how do you make sure that when somebody is looking for something that you offer, that they will also find it on your website? That is where you really need help, and we can offer that. What about content for my website?
Although the layout and technical design of a website are important elements, the most important aspect of a website is to make clear what you offer to your visitors. This is done by means of text and images, which form the actual contents of your site. We would like to stress the importance of this, but also that the one who can create these contents is primarily the owner of the business and thus the owner of the website. Although we are specialists in building websites and SEO, we can never know as much about the business of our clients as our clients do themselves. So in all our website packages, the actual writing of texts and creation if images (photos or graphics) is not included. However, if you do not have the expertise or means within your company to that yourself, we can offer writing services, but we charge for them separately.
